Grand Teton National Park Weather Forecast and Information

Visiting Grand Teton National Park is wonderful whenever you are able to go. A majority of the people visit during the summer months of July and August, when it is usually sunny and warm.

July, August and September are usually the driest months with May and June being the wettest.

Summer daytime temperatures are usually in the mid-70's with some days reaching into the 80's. You should always expect the evenings to be cool, even in the summer. Lows into the 40's can occur even during July and August.

September is usually a wonderful time to be in Grand Teton National Park. The days are usually warm, nights are cool, the trees and shrubs are changing color, the biting insects are gone, and the tops of the Tetons are usually dusted with fresh snow.

Grand Teton National ParkThe winter months of December and January are typically the coldest. Lows are often below zero, but if you are prepared for the cold weather with proper boots and layered clothing, you can still enjoy the magic of the Tetons during the winter.

The ground is often covered with snow from November through February in the lower elevations. The upper elevations become snow free during June.

The main park road stays open all year, but the inner Teton Park Road north of Cottonwood Creek is closed from November through April.
